About Doctor's Choice Supplements

Doctor's Choice Supplements offers daily horse vitamin and mineral supplements in a variety of convenient forms. There is also an assortment of booster supplements to complement our daily supplements.

Doctor's Choice Supplements was started and developed by R. Dean Meyer, DVM. Dr. Meyer has used his veterinarian and his personal experience to continue to develop and refine the horse supplement product lines. History.

The goal of Doctor's Choice Supplements and R. Dean Meyer, DVM, is to assure that every horse is treated as an individual in order to meet its nutritional requirements.

Meet the Doctor's Choice Staff

R. Dean Meyer

DVM

Dr. Meyer received his BS and DVM from Michigan State University. He began practicing in Lodi, Wisconsin and later owned and operated Riverdale Veterinary Clinic in Muscoda. In 1984 he established Madison Equine Clinic. He is past president of Wisconsin Equine Practitioners Association. He helped found and is the first president of the Wisconsin State Horse Council. His interest in equine nutrition led to the formation of Doctor's Choice Supplements. His professional interests include reproduction, lameness and all aspects of dental care.

Craig Sandmire

Equine Nutrition Specialist

Craig attended the University of Wisconsin - River Falls where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science Horse Concentration in 1983. Following college, Craig moved to Texas where he managed a Clydesdale Carriage operation. For the next 15 years Craig was an employee of Tri-County Farmers Co-op as a Livestock Production Specialist, Mill Manager and General Manager for the last 4 years. In 1999, Craig joined Madison Equine in the role of Equine Nutrition Specialist.

Pam Cornachione

Equine Nutrition Specialist

Pam attended Ohio State University College of Agriculture and majored in Animal Science with an Equine emphasis. She managed a large boarding and breeding operation north of Columbus Ohio for several years before giving it up to concentrate on showing and breeding Arabian horses. An opportunity as the breeding manager of a large Thoroughbred farm brought her back to northeast Ohio and when the farms' foaling operations were relocated to central Kentucky, she joined Doctor's Choice as a Nutrition Specialist. She is charged with developing territory in the Ohio, southern Michigan, and western Pennsylvania areas. Pam currently resides in Ravenna, Ohio, where she enjoys spending free time with her kids Colleen and Conner, friends and other family, boating, riding, hiking, and reading.

Karen Wildt Duhr

Business Manager

Karen attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science Equine emphasis with a business option in 1989. Following college Karen worked at the University of Wisconsin Veterinary School. In August of 1989 she began working for the Madison Equine Clinic and later became practice manager. While working for the clinic she also worked for Doctor's Choice Supplements primarily with the administration. In August 2006 she left the clinic and is now focusing all of her attention on Doctor's Choice Supplements. She will be doing administrative work, advertising, future planning, and whatever else is needed. She currently lives in Black Earth on a beef cattle farm amongst several Appaloosa Sport Horses. Her free time is spent with her husband, kids, and German Shepherds.
